| LETS SEE THE TEST RESULTS FOR THAT AMP THAT WAS TESTED ON 16 VOLTS.OR BETTER YET CROSS CHECK THE BOARDS OF ANOTHER 4.1 FROM A DIFFERANT STATE.
DO THEY ACTUALLY THINK WE ARE THAT DUMB TO BELIEVE A AMP MADE IN 2007 OR 2008 NEEDS ALMOST 230 AMPS TO PRODUCE 1600 WATTS AT 1 OHM.
I AM GOING TO CALL BOARD SWAP OR TAMPERING HERE.

| If you think that is weird why dont you look at the output at 4 ohms then at 2 ohms, it more than doubles its output, thats more than 100% efficient, now tell me how that is possible? | |

| What about the Test Facility?
Has any other amp been tested by them? Was the actual output known prior to sending that amp in?
We need a set of controls in this amp testing fiasco. Sending amps in that have not been tested is worthless, you have to be able to compare results.
Maybe the M3 being sent to this lab will help. (If its the SAME M3 that was tested before.)

Maybe the M3 being sent to this lab will help. (If its the SAME M3 that was tested before.) The facility is an independant testing lab that produces official CEA ratings for major manufactures. The lab also tests products for articles in magazines. Their results are 100% legitimate and true. They are also the shop that is called in on 12 volt related court cases.

Efficiancy is calculated based on power output diveded by power input. It has nothing to do with output between different impedance levels. The results you are seeing indicate that there are multiple voltage rails inside of it. This denotes a "hybrid" class D amplifier. BTW Power = Voltage X Current

| tamu this amplifier was taken out of the stock of metro audio far as i know ralph dropped by and picked it up one of my teammates put up he money and then was going to send his in to get it certified this way at least it was a brand new off the shelf amp so board swap you want to claim? i think you need to wake up man theres quit a few manufacturers that build amps gearerd to higher voltages stetsom beening one abass being another i guess if you or anyone else has a problem with the results you can protest it. oh wait we already dd that and it passed sorry bout ya luck now stfu. | |

BTW Power = Voltage X Current That was exactly my point Gabe. Not saying Treo has done anything wrong here, but rather I'm bringing attention to the fact that other manu's can and have built amps that produce power levels at 4ohms that total much less than what halving output would produce as the resistance is doubled...and this is what our entire rating system relies on. I appreciate your explanation and a great example of this is the amplifier that was designed for JL. It does 500 watts at 1.5, 2, even 4 ohms, still only does 500 watts. Obviously that particular design does nothing for USACi ratings but we both know they could just as easily build an amp that does 100 watts at 4 ohms but 3000 at 2. In fact it was done before and that amp was deemed illegal. I'd like to reiterate, I'm not pointing any fingers at TReo, not one bit, Just saying this is something that has happened in the past and we should be watching for it. And to address the issue of this testing facility, I'm sure they're great, I've heard nothing but good things about them:D

| I hope I'm not sounding like I'm trying to start any controversy because I'm not. Treo from what I know is a great company. This testing facility has a good record. ...just wanted to make that clear | |

| i hear ya zac this test was dont so that some of my teamates wouldbe legit if the amp failed they would have moved up to the right classes treo makes some great products it jsut needed to be done and i guess now that it is certified it still isnt good enough for some people | |

I'm sorry you have a hard time comprehending my way of writing and I didnt mean for it to sound bad in any way ? I stated that Treo had done nothing wrong nor had the testing facility. What else do you want me to say? I'm only pointing out that we need to watch out for manu's cheating the system because it is something that has happened in the past. That's positive, I dont see how that is negative?
