| I have several shops and people wanting me to run DD subs and sport their logos, which is all well and good because I'm a whore for equipment. But what it comes down to is this. I want to do either 4 9515s or 4 9518s in my Silverado.
I would rather not do the 15s just because it would look like I copied bret, and I really want to do 18s anyways, but you never know. Here is my question: to be effective in SB4, how much power do I really need to put on these subs? I know the RMS on my current DC 18s was 1000 and I'm well over that with my zx amp, but they look like they CRAVE power, and I assume the DDs would be the same way.
I plan on starting off with a zx2500.1 per pair then moving to a zx2500.1 per sub, but with the zx not liking to being wired down I may need to jump ship to a different amp. idk yet. Either way, by this time next year there will be 4 woofers in my truck.

| I am actually considering 6-8 12s, but that would require me to step down to a lower level sub. Because of the way I am about quality equipment, I try to run the best stuff/highest level I can get my hands on (reasonably). 4 18s seems reasonable within my price range. Kenny . . . . hell with it, I'll run a zx2500.1 per coil I'll look into the massive amounts of 10s or 12s though. But same thing I've told bret, once I went to 15s (and then 18s) I don't think there is any turning back | |

| Tub do the 18's man. I was gonna run 9518's but felt I did not have the room. Now that I look at it I do have the room. Dont listen to Skip it wont cost as much as he thinks it will. 95's are probably more efficient than you think. I am probably getting 1000-1250 real world power per sub right now. By the way I was gonna go 8 12's also but just didnt.I would never consider you a copy cat just because you did 4 15's. I am sure your box would be different than my design. DO whatever will make YOU happy not what other people say!!!! | |

| ya i'm gonna do 4 18s MOST LIKELY but also trying to explore some various ideas. It is going to be a daily street machine so several smaller woofers come to mind. However there is something about having 4 18s . . . . puts a smile on my face | |

| Id rather 8 12s on less power per sub than 4 18s pushed close to peak wattage
NO smell.
Also no offense to Bret, but his does smell if hes on it hard.....get 4 more subs and same power.....NO smell, and prolly higher numbers
I say like 8 12" 3500s and 4 2500s if ya gotta stay with kicker.....just seeing that in my rear view would make me 65% aroused
This is just my opinion though

| 65% aroused? damn I gotta go get a camper shell now. I can't settle for most of the way aroused (that's what she said)
I'll look long and hard (no pun intended) into various setups. Daily street beater first then SB4 monster 2nd though and yea I don't like the smell (no pun intended) so I'll look at wall-o-something or other

| Skip if I dont clip the hell out of it and if I could hold voltage no smell. Its not too much power but rather too much clipped power lol. 8 3512's with 4 2500 would definitely get very loud. Better brace the truck!!!! | |
