| Hello I am new to the car audio competion circuit. I have add a system or two before but nothing has major has this. I am looking to enter a upcoming Usaci event and plan to be in the 0-600 stock class. I am currently hitting a 145.1 db with 2 12s and 1 amp. Is there any upgrades that I can do to my ride to help gain at least 1-2 dbs? I have nomore room for subs , just installed a line driver , and put dynamat on the trunk lid. Any help will be greatly appreciated. | |

| Need more information on the Subs(specs), Amp (specs) and what kind of car? Also need to know what ohm load the subs are and how it's wired to the amp? Can the amp handle the ohm load? Also need to know what size the box (specs) is, port location, size port, trunk space, seats up or down etc...
There is alot that goes into being loud. You just can't put subs in a box, throw an amp on them and hope to tickle the SPL mic just right. (unless you have been doing this for a long time) This is a rule of thumb I go by (but not true for everyone) "If it sounds good when you play music then it's not for SPL"

| Sorry. 2Kicker 12 L7 Solobarics wired down to a 1 ohm load to a Alphasonik High current amp giviing out 1800 watts at 1 ohm. It is installed in a 95 Lexus ES300 mid size sedan. The subs are in a custom made slot poerted box with 3.5 cu ft to each sub tuned to 35 hz. With the port straight down the middle. The subs are facing inside the cab from the trunk with the seat folded down. I have a optima Red Top has my main starting battery. 0/1 power and ground to the amp. 10 gauge speaker cable.

| I would try a higher tuneing for one.
The trunk sealed off from the cab ? if not, you can try that and try opening the trunk during your burp. help myself with a trunk car. may work with it being sealed as well, never sealed mine to find out.
Shrink the box a little may help also, but one can never tell until testing is done.

| What Mopar said. I think you box is a little to big and tuned to low. Also run with the drivers door open and the mic in the passenger kick panel. I know that sounds strange, but it works. Don't run a sweep. Go to a shop that has an spl meter and run a sweep. The computer will give you a frequency peak. That should be the note you need to play + or - 3 hz. | |
