| I am running 2 NSB 40 FT under the hood (because they fit) and 1 NSB 60 FT in the back. That's 4800 short-circuit amps (only stat that NSB gives on its batteries). The largest alternator I can get is 180 amps.
Would this be enough to support a system with 2kw, all class A/B? My sub amplifier has a fuse rating of 180 amps.
I figure if it can support this, it should be adequate when I go to more power, but switch to class D amps.

| You really dont need a new battery or alternator especially untill you go past 2000 watts. If you already got all that then ill tell you now u got plenty plenty of power. Now invest in a better amp. A/B is crap..lol...D is the way to go!!! | |

| You don't know the amp I'm using, so you can't really make that assumption
Orion HCCA 275 is not crap. It's probably better in both power and sound quality than the majority of class D amps on the market. It does its rated power at 12.5 volts / .05% THD It just needs a lot of current.
It actually looks a lot like your AB amp inside, and the connections / controls are identical. It's more like a 150.1 in power, though.

| Well, I do plan on that, but this is the amp I have now.
When I am done doing the upgrades and putting a little more cash back, I am going with 2 class D's of similar power (`1500w @ 1)

| AB is far from crap. D is the way to go for cheaper power. but ab will has and always will sound better. |

| ab amps are forsure nice...the manufactures have just crammed class d down your throat couse they can buy them by the boat load from china for 5 bucks each...full tilt most people prolly wouldnt notice the efficiancy difference...the 275 is a nice amp..but i think 2kw is a lil high for that..if you have those three batts man you should have no issues running that amp | |

| The 2kw referred to the total system power.
I have a 5002 XTR on my front stage. I figure the 275 will do about 1600w, and the 5002 around 200w x 2.
