Role call for Longview 2X show Feb 24th.

First topic message reminder :

Can we get a few of you guys together for this show? Jenissa AKA "Texas Show Bytch" has expressed interest in having a larger SQ turn out. In part so she can get a little better grasp on SQ. This would be a good time to gain some early season points as well as help a USACi promoter and judge understand better what it is we do.

Unless the SQ turnout is higher than the last time, I wouldn't worry about who is judging. I just paid my money and got my points. Since Sketoe isn't going to make it, I wouldn't count on a seasoned SQ judge.

Just sux to travel to a show and then not get judged, gas isn't cheap and you don't know what to improve on for the next show.

Billy I will try to give you some competition Sunday.

You guys saw me offer on here...no one contacted me so I made other plans...I agree with you guys 100%.

I agree with you 100% too. Longview is about 4 hours one way for me in a truck that get's about 14 MPG on the highway with a tail wind.LOL

Last year I drove from here in Hot Springs to Jackson, MS and from there to Longview and back home all in the same weekend. I was one of only 2 SQ competitors in Jackson. And not even judged in Longview. It turned out to be just a last minute dash for points more than a way to get feedback from judges.

I hope to make it to this show regardless. I am having a last minute issue with the truck right now. If several of us make it to this show maybe we can at least tear into each others installs.

It's not looking good on me making it as of right now. The 3rd brake light on the roof of my truck has decided to turn itself into a nice custom waterfall.

My interior got soaked with this weeks rain. I have it all pulled out now to dry and clean. I had to go and get some special chemicals to kill the mold and mildew that has popped up. The truck is almost undriveable because of the musty smell. My eyes burn just driving across town. I wouldn't want any one to have to sit in the truck right now. I hope I can get it all cleaned up and the mildew killed. If not I will have to buy some new interior.

I'm going back to the shop tonight to check on things. If all is well I'll throw the interior back together and hit the road in the morning.

FYI 04 and up F-150 trucks have issues with the 3rd brake light leaking. I found out about a year ago that Ford had a recall on them for this reason. I took my truck to the dealership and they replaced it with this nice new and improved one that is causing me all of these problems. My ex-bosses 05 truck is leaking like crazy after his recall upgrade aswell. Both of us put the silicone treatment to our trucks today after he saw and smelt mine.

Funny I can cut a 4 foot wide hole in my truck with no leaks. Ford can't even put a brake light in.

water leaking problems ,that is not problem with me ,i just learn to live with them.lol

We've got a new guy on our Team in Intro that fared VERY well at this show. Go Dave...and go Team Hybrids!

If you are talking about the guy in the mustang there was nobody in his class. As a matter of fact out of the four sq cars I think he was the only one "judged"

By the way I am not hating on the guy It just sucked that when we wanted our trophies they had to assemble them, and they did not even have score sheets for q classes.

LOL...winning...inch or a mile...whatever they say...LOL. I hear you on the trophy thing.

This type of thing has got to stop. I have been to several shows myself that advertised for SQ and the judges did'nt have sheets to judge with. I only found this out after they had my money of course. I have started taking blank copies with me to shows. Usually keep 2 or 3 in the glovebox.

I'm starting to agree with John S. on having SQ only at larger and regional shows. We don't have the judging pool to keep running SQ at these local events. And the promoters are not even keeping all of the sheets on hand. I'm really surprised Jenissa didn't have Q sheets on hand. It is her that asked for a bigger SQ turnout at this show. What will happen when one of these people actually has more than one car show up for each class? Will they just throw our names in a hat and draw what place we receive?
