Deep South Nationals - SQ Top 30 Money Round

Subject: Deep South Nationals - SQ Top 30 Money Round Thu Jan 24, 2008 5:24 am

On June 21st-22nd, 2008 in Biloxi, MS the SQ Compatition world will be turned upside down!

Deep South Nationals is a Top 30 Money Round SQ event that will be held in conjunction with Scrapin the Coast. Scrapin is the premier car & truck show in the southeast and was Mini Truckin's 2007 "Show of the Year". Also, Scrapin had the largest USACI turnout of any show all year (It was bigger than FINALS!)

This will be a return of the REAL DEAL money shows of the 80's and 90's. Several manufactures have already given to the PRIZE POT that will go directly to the competitors NOT in my pocket or to show expenses!

By the way, Deep South Nationals is a non-profit event. I'm doing the show for one reason and one reason only... I want SQ to GROW bottom line.

hey Chris...we can all meet up here in AR if you guys want to caravan down. Heck, I'll grill at my house before we leave out if you want...I owe ya! I know this is a long way away from now but this show and your show are shows all the serious SQ competitors need to support.

i will try to make at least one of this shows , biloxi or tulsa or both.

Will your truck be done?

It would seem that alot of folks have turned to trucks for SQ competition. Some say a truck is one of the hardest vehicles to make sound good. That is why I compete with one. I was a little surprised at the truck turnout for SQ comp this last year. Props to all of you guys. Hopefully I will have mine up to snuff for the afformentioned competition. Very Happy

just a reminder , book your hotel in time this place gets crowded this time of year and the surrounded area are just as bad .you don't wanna end too far from the accion!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why not use the usaci "Q" sheet for judging? As I understand it the goal is to entice people to compete in sq. Using rules and scoring from one of the current sanctions would serve to further that end.

The Rules I'm taking about are more house keeping type things...

* Can cars be on a power Suply during Judging.
* What Music / Judge bring there own CD's.
* Hours of Judging.
* Check in Time on Sunday.
* ECT...

first two are not a big deal and the last two are logistics.
I say give the guys an option to run a power supply or not. My car sounds no different unless your jamming (9/10 on volume) on it for 30 min straight. then Zapco doens't like low voltage. Let it be up to them.

CD's...let the judges bring their own...announce the CD's at the beginning of the day SUnday...NOT BEFORE.

ive yet to do a SQ comp but if the goal is a good sounding overall car and not a car that sounds good one one song then why announce the cd at all? competitors will see it when putting in in their car and thats it (or maybe hearing other cars in the lanes)

I'd show up with a hi quality burnt disc...you wouldn't know.

Because of the overwhelming interest in Deep South Nationals Top 30 Round. We anticipate there will be well over 30 cars.

So to be FAIR to everyone that would like to participate we will use the USACI results from Saturday to qualify for the Sunday round.

There are 9 USACI classes (7 sound & install / 2 Sound only) the Top 3 cars from each class will receive an invitation for Deep South Nationals. The last few spots will be filled with at-large bids handed out by the Usaci Judges, from Saturday, for cars they feel deserve to be in the round of 30.

Deep South Nationals will have one of the best judging staff's assembled in a very long time. The list of judges will be announced in the next few weeks when plans are finalized.
