| I paid 130 for both my rex's a month. no sr 22 or anything. I don't think it is the sr 22 that cost more it is the reason that you have a sr 22. | |

SR 22 i believe is high risk insurance means you've had a few too many mis-haps when driving, and a DUI/DWI will get ya one right away i know several people who have had a few DUI's they all got SR 22 right after the first one

Pretty sure it depends on the state, but for Kansas it's the following: 1) Not having insurance. 2) Conviction of anything listed under the habitual offenders list. 3) Any license suspension A habitual offender is someone who is convicted 3 times in any combination in 5 years. Vehicular homicide, DUI, Driving while suspended, anything having to do with a felony if the vehicle was used, and failing to stop at an accident and provide the help required by law. Pretty sure there are other things that should be on both lists, but that should give you a pretty good idea. I only know this crap because a friend had to get SR-22 insurance, well, he'll have to come April, and we were wondering why it was.

| The DOT has taken my licence and issued me a work permit. They said I was a habitual violator. Back in January I was issued on for careless driving. I came to a stop sign within a small town called Hartley and I was going to cross a highway that was divied into 4 lanes in the town. Two cops were clearly sitting across the intersection on the right hand side and I was going to the gas station which was on the left hand side of the intersection. It was in the evening and there was a slight snow fall. There was a pickup driving on this highway on the left hand side and had turned into the outer lane and turned its blinker on to turn onto the road I was currently on. I proceeded across the highway with my rear wheels spinning due to the light snow on the highway and pulled into the gas station. Cop pulled up behind me and accused me of trying to get across the highway before the truck had crossed my path, even though it had pulled onto the road I was at and the cop gave me a ticket for careless driving. Then I got a ticket for speeding in Nebraska. I was under the impression that the speed limit there was 65 everywhere, one evening that I was driving to drill I had found my way onto a back road trying to save some miles and I was doing 68 at the bottom of a hill and the cop pulled me over and informed me the speed limit was not 65 everywere in Nebraska and gave me a ticket of 68 in a 55. Then when I had my accident in October, which was caused by a mechanical failure, I was given a ticket for Failure to maintain control. 3 violations within 12 months they took my full licence the 17th of Jan and issued me a work permit and said I needed a letter from my unit. I will be on this work permit for 3 months.
I had to type this out to my UA and commander... didn't feel like retyping... drinking and driving is the dumbest thing anybody can do... i just have bad luck

little harsh.... but the sr 22 just means that your insurance sends info to tha state saying that u do have insurance and it's like four dollars more
