USACI World Championship Series (UWCS)

First topic message reminder :

UWCS = USACI World Championship Series.


Eastern Finals = Greenville SC - September
Southern Finals = DFW - October
National Finals = Omaha. - November

Score from DFW and SC and NE would carry over to the "NATIONAL TITLE" which would be the results of all three events combined to one!

Advantage: Regional Finals champions bragging rights and people who cannot make it to NE still have a registered score that has to be beaten for the national title.

Disadvantage: You do not make NE and get beat, you do not get a rerun! People at the last event know what number it will take to win…. But, all the more reason to make Omaha if you can!

We have Regional Champions at all three events and then we combine all the results to crown the National Champions!.


A work in progress....... But we have tentative dates reserved in all three locations!

Let's not get bent out of shape over this. These are ideas that we are supposed to throw out. Maybe this concept came up a day before he posted it, maybe it's been on his mind for a while. Either way, nothing is set in stone so let's continue to throw out ideas productively. No need to argue.

I don't see a way that sq could be done in this format. Most judges base their sq reference off of the first car that they hear for the day. That reference is gone a month or 2 later. You can't remember all of the little nuances of a system a month or 2 later, at least not well enough to critique it against another car and crown one champion. The numbers in this case are irrelevant to another show, in another state, in another month.

That's my take.

I would like to have more info on the SQ as well. I am not feeling this for us over in the West! I can't afford to go to DFW and then a month later Omaha. Can we get some sort of Western regional added?

yes, its a free country. Its also a private Usaci forum in which you continue to bash anything and everything Usaci tries to do. Usaci has delt with your negative attitude while die hard Usaci competitors sit back and listen to you "Female dog" and moan about everything.

If you support Usaci, support their attempts at making things great for everyone. While I may or may not agree with everything done by the organization, I applaud the efforts made by Ralph and others to benifit everyone involved ( including Quad ).

If you dont' support Usaci, leave. A continued negative attitude ( even though it might be your personal "freedom of speech" opinion ) does not benifit anyone or anything and only dampens all the positive things Usaci tries to do.

When Usaci takes 2 steps forward, you ( Quad ) come on here and knock them 1 step back. Usaci still moves forward, but at a slower pace because of the negative attitude you spread.

I like the idea of being able to get more people invovled by doing something like this. As metioned earlier, would be nice to make sure the same mics are used at each location for the like classes so if there is any variance with the mic, all compeitors will be on that same mic for that class, so that will help the complaints.

Lets give this some more constructive critism though, keep the bad mouthing to yourself, as it doesn't do anything but make people mad and bash/ignore you.

I like the idea of a circuit style competition with regionals and then a big finale. I do not like the idea of allowing the scores at the different regionals to count towards the national championship though. Being on the judging side of things, and having been a competitor that traveled to a lot of events, I know that many of our judges do things differently. I also know that meters can vary only slightly although no one can verify that the K-Factors aren't changed at particular events. I'm not accusing anyone of doing such but the possibility is there. To eliminate this issue read on...

My point is, the idea is great, the logistics of counting the regional scores towards world finals is not! My personal thoughts are having a state, regional, and national champion in each class. State finals, Regionals, then the ultimate National finals! Require participation in each of these events in order to compete at World Finals and give discounts or incentives to those that win on the state and regional levels that would help with the costs of competing at the national finals. Any thoughts on this?

I agree with this idea... I would think it would have to be only regional and world finals though, but in regards to having the same mic/judges does help even the ball field, also having the same "environmental" factors that can make a difference in score.

how about you MUST attend a regionals to compete at finals?

How about if you win the regional you get a free run at world? or something to that nature.

The only problem that I see with Steve's idea is that some people have a hard enough time getting the time or the $ to attend finals, let alone being required to travel to a regional then to finals.

I do like the idea, I just don't think it's viable. It's not like we have more competitors that we know what to do with. If that was the case then it would make sense. As it is, we are struggling to keep this sport alive.

Leave it the way it is. There are already regional events that take place during the season.

Omaha-for the first year had a good turn out, the attitudes were positive, the judges were great, the verifications were great, the hotels were great, the drive wasn't bad, etc.

Kevin, Good thing USACi cooperated and shrunk the trophies this year so you guys could get them all home.

yeah, but they actually cost 50% more to build.

Trophies were top notch IMO. One of a kind. I remember some FUSE trophies from way back. no other trophy like it, it stood out in a room and it was a conversation starter.

The typical 4 post 6' tall trophies, alot of people have them and standing next to other just like them, you can't tell one from the next.

I would like to see some "different" trophies next year also ( small or big, as long as their rememberable.)

as far as the Regionals go, most people already go to a Regionals. Who went to finals and didnt' attend at least 1?

I think they could have been a little bigger is all.. sorry, not meant to be negative, but I would of much rather had the 7.5ft four post.

I didnt it was 14 hour away and 2 weeks before finals..... I take that back we didnt have one this year, that was last year.........

These trophies were NICE...aluminum legs instead of plastic stock...heck yes they were nice...more expensive, and yes, Ralph, much appreciated. Memorable trophy for sure.

...OK back to the point...Matt S makes a good point...but what if you live in the North/Northwest...Omaha is the only show 'close'. What if we added a Regional at KC,MO to count? Donnie would be all over it, surely.
