Just a quick question

According to the rule book ANYONE affiliated with a dealer is not allowed to compete in SB1-SB4. They must compete in SB5. So why I am seeing this being overlooked at competitions???

One more thing, when I was judging for MECA we Tech Inspected every vehicle to determine its category to compete in. This is another thing I am not seeing in USACi. WHY????

Because its time for usaci judges to step up their game .actually its been time for many years. Last time inconsistent judging was discuss it was labeled "whining and the whinning was problem with usaci today"

USACI.. this isnt the only person who sees this stuff this way. Just one who finally made it here to voice his thoughts

Yeah, I'm definitely not whining. I just see it as a way for people to cheat. Hell I could have been running any amp I wanted and competed in the 0-600 watt class. No one would have known, cause no one looked at my equipment.

were you at any multi point events? because thats were it should count

this used to not be an issue back in the day when i started this sport, and i had the best director i have ever seen in MIKE OUTLAW he did it fair and square, and even came donw on me once or twice wich made me really start diggin in the rules so it wouldnt happen anymore

Steve it counts at every show. Its about cheating yes.. but its more about the image usaci has and its capabilities of bringing and keeping new guys. Shows are ran with veterans in mind. Who know the rules and a decent bit of the time try to follow them

The event I went to was a triple point event

sad to say but most directors are lazy, and the reason usaci has this type of reputation is due to them

Yeah sad to say I know of 4 competitors that should have been competing in SB5 that competed in SB1 and SB2. It was my first time in years returning to USACi so I didn't make a ruckus. I was there to have fun. Next year will be a different story as I will be full on competing and trying to get as many points as possible. So I will not hesitate to call someone out at the comps.

I did that at MECA and was asked to be a judge cause I knew more of the rules than most. All it takes is reading and comprehending.

I RUN DRAG AND MWSPL AND DRAG NEVER REALLY CHECKED MY KIDS CAR HELL HE RAN FOR OVER 1 YEAR IN WRONG CLASS BECAUSE OF 2 MANY BATTS.. HELL I WAS NEW AND NEVER KNEW ....

I believe I know the show and possibly competitors he is referring to, and I believe if they would have been told/pushed into SB5 -- they simply would not have competed with the level of equipment they had. At least 3 or 4 of them for sure -- from 135.2 to a 141.7 would you go into SB5? I didn't compete at the show, just stopped by to help out for a bit while we were "part searching" for a fellow competitor so he could hopefully get back on the road to British Columbia.

I didn't come to yours....I had to work that day^^^^^

I was at this show! I checked everything with a couple exceptions i was in every car and verified everyone .you are full of S H I T!

Well Chris my car was never specced. No one ever looked at mine. So I'm full of S H I T that shop owners and shop employees are competing in SB1 & SB2???

Well if your at a show and someones in the wrong class let it be known right than and there instead of letting it slide and than after the fact bringing it up on the forum..

I brought it up after reading the full rule book. Was wondering why, if it was common. Apparently, in my area it is due to lack of competitors to fill classes. Which is a very reasonable answer to me. Cause I remember judging MECA and how hard it was to fill classes. So this thread can be closed. I didn't come to ask the question to make a big deal out of it. Was just wondering if it was common practice. My question was answered on a local forum in a tasteful manner and I thank Jeremy for that.
