nooooo. i have seen a total of 6 here in dallas that used to be team crossfire. they all have the same issue. the spiders are complete Dung Pile and dont hold up. you will start getting tears in the spiders after couple months depending how hard you run them. i had 2. buddy had 2, team mate had one and another team mate had one in the trunk. all of them had the same problem and roger at crossfire everytime said "oh ive never seen that happen" lol. there amps are great. subs are garbage. and numbers wise they suck even more. my level 6 18 beat a V1 by 1.1 dbs and a V2 by 1.9 dbs direct swap on a powerbass 5k at .35

I am gonna start my replay to this post with an answer to your question Spoiler, then I will reply to the comments made by Heath, aka Basscort. To answer your question Spoiler, it is very possible that an XS-18V2 can take a Crescendo 5500, but that will depend on application and design. We have several well known established competitors running very close to the same total power your describing. We don't and have never had a spider issue with the V2 subs, no tears as Basscort as described. We have had some issues with tinsil leads, but those issues have been addressed, and only a few guys had those issues. We tried using a larger single tinsil lead instead of the dual smaller leads, and it didn't work out, but again, only about 5 guys got this new lead, and we have since changed back to the smaller dual leads. I would suggest you contact Navid at Crescendo, they even use our XS-V2 15s in their Expedition, and of course Mikey with the Hummer, he has had no problems with our subs what so ever, and he had other subs that were giving him issues in the past, but since switching, he has had no problems and got a little louder. Now to address Basscort, the statements you have posted here are not accurate or the truth. You have only owned 1 XS-V2 sub, and 2 XS-V1 subs, which are 3 inch coils and have completely different spiders than the V2 subs. Now, first thing, the db differences you so proudly rant off, do you want me to show you the notes I have written down when you came to test here? When you swapped out your level 6 sub to the V2 sub, the difference was .8 to .9 difference, not 1.9 as you claim, and that was with a Dual 1 ohm XS-V2 sub, not a .7 coil like you had in your Level 6. Now if both coil were to be the same, the difference would have been closer to .3 or so. Yes the Level 6 would still have been a little louder, but its a lot more sub than our V2 sub, much bigger and stronger motor for sure. Now the V1 score verus you Level 6 score, I would say this is just a made up story, I doubt this was ever tested, but if indeed it was, if coils are the same impedance, which I doubt they were, because you bought dual 1.4 coil V1 subs, so there is no way you got it to .35 which you stated above, I would guarantee the score to be very close. Is this the same fabrication technique your using when you had your Kicker L5 box and got on this very same forum and said it did a 154 or 155? When in fact it didn't even break a 150? I have the notes right here if you need reminding, you see, I write everything down, unlike yourself who rely's on hopes and dreams of what your vehicle does. Maybe you need to lay off the sprown, I don't know, but getting on here telling lies doesn't set well with me or with Crossfire.

PostSubject: Re: Crossfire XS V2 18s   Mon Aug 27, 2012 2:39 pm

Of course in the wrong hands a sub may have problems with handling power..I have been competing for over 12 years so I have had my hands on many many subs...I know Mikeys Hummer has never had any problems with the XS V2 15s they have been by far the best subs he has used in his 6th order BP..I try and get my own experiences with trying differant subs but wanted to know what others thought about these subs..Thanks for clearing things up for me..You cant always base your decisions off what others have done or blown up or what have ya so I might have to give them a try..Thanks again

No problem Spoiler, just to show you how this guy can't even get his stories straight, when he was trying to sell his Kicker subs, his Spl score somehow gained 4 db from when we tested it here, here is the quote from his for sale ad

ok i have 6 kicker L5s that i got from kickercrx on here couple months ago. played with them and going a differant route now. They worked great on 6k on burps and did good daily on 3k.

600 + shipping

Then someone asked about how they in his vehicle, person was Maddog
what did you end up hitting with them?

154 :/ they sound alot louder than that though so im thinking maybe phasing issues but still 154 on 6k rms not too bad.

This was posted on page 7 on the for sale section here

Then in the Streetbeat section, in his own build log, he then says:

also i have tried the kicker l7s in my truck but the box was a little too big i think. i did 4 up and 2 to the driver side with 2 6" aeros to the passenger side. only did a 151 on 7k but sounded way louder so i believe i had cancelation issues. they were the 07 models though not the 05s.

I generally don't respond to dung on any forum, but this guy is something else, all he is good for is selling and trading off equipment, I could say a lot more, but he isn't worth it.

I've been running Crossfire for over 9 years and have never had problems with soft parts taking a Dung Pile. It's the best brand I have used.

This is addressed to the Spoiler. I have been running Crossfire since. 2009. Since then i have won 3 world championships, and currently hold a world record in iasca.(for my class stock pro 2). I ran my subs for 2 years with no failers of any kind. I reconed in 2011. just for fresh cones. they were still working perfect i just wanted new ones. You will not have spider issues as basscourt11 is "claiming".
He sound like he is just trying to cause trouble. Especially with that stupid "rusty says hi" crap.
I personaly don't know you. But your comments are just lies and completely false.
Now with that said, lets get back on topic.
I have had a great experience with Crossfire. And there products are GREAT! You will be happy that you choose to use CROSSFIRE.

PostSubject: Re: Crossfire XS V2 18s   Tue Aug 28, 2012 3:22 pm

not lies sir. ive had plenty subs myself and will point out any issues with any sub. i love dc but they have really crappy coils and tinsels. i love crossfire amps but there subs didnt do me well at all in numbers or hold up under alot of power daily like other subs ive had. i loved kicker (for the price) but they dont take power for very long. i love atmos but they have some coil issues as well with smaller gauge wires on them. i was on team crossfire for i guess a year and a half or somthing and me and roger were pretty cool i guess but when he started lying about my sub issues and stuff like that i didnt take it well and just switched from crossfire back to DC. i am just poking fun at roger with the rusty says hi thing. didnt mean to get anyone all butt hurt.... which is what ppl seem to do when they get called out in any way. and yes im sure there are a ton of ppl that run crossfire and havent had issues but that goes for every company, some have great luck others dont. i personally didnt have much luck at all and communication was a key i guess. and i can understand him not wanting to help me out since i only did like 2 usaci shows a year and did mostly local shows in DFW. being a small time competitor i go with what company will help me out the most and DC so far has won. i am a no name in usaci and a small time name in my local org but rusty still has great communication and for some reason i get products from him in nevada way faster than i did with roger at crossfire, and crossfire is 30 minutes from my house so its just weird that he never had anything in stock and it always took forever to get anything in. and i also know of a couple ppl who went another route from crossfire because of bad communication and not getting products in for months at a time. but all in all i still love crossfire amps, just not there subs. i mean i hit my highest number with 4 crossfire 1700s. those are very badass lil amps. i would love to have some if roger would ever talk to me :/ lol. so carry on ppl thats my 2 cents

and knowing roger for that short time im almost 100% positive that he had those 2 ppl before me post on here. ive seen it first hand that when someone calls him out he has his team members back him up. which is cool but just a little odd that he doesnt let his products speak for themselves instead of his competitors.

Well first off. I posted here because i don't like when people lie and try to start crap
Roger even admitted that there was a small handfull of subs that had a tense lead problem. If he was trying to hide anything. Why would he mention it at all? That's right, he wanted the truth out there.
Now that your story has enough people that can prove it wrong. What do you do? Lash out at Roger and others character and integrity.( Including mine).
So there is enough info here to see that your just like a 5 year old having a temper tantrum. Because you didn't get what you want. I also see that talking to you about it is pointless. You are not trying to do anything but stir up things. So i am done with you.

PostSubject: Re: Crossfire XS V2 18s   Tue Aug 28, 2012 5:20 pm

Heath, the issue I have with you is your not stating actual facts. This topic was about V2 subs, you have never had an issue with spiders with a V2 sub, you told me you had issues with spiders with a V1 sub, which uses a completely different spider. We have never had an issue with spiders on a V2 sub, not to say someday it could possibly happen, but as of today, never a spider issue with a V2 sub. As far as your V1 sub, I have your soft parts right in front of me here, yes there is a small cut on the top spider, I personally haven't seen this happen with integrated leads like you had, but have seen this with standard leads due to tinsil slap. So how is this lying? I can also tell you I have never seen anyone break a 12 spoke 18" sand cast basket before either, but you somehow managed to do that also. I only got on here to inform a innocent person posting about our sub, and you chose to try and trash us with lies, and say how another sub was so much louder than ours when it wasn't, like I said, I have the numbers written down, its pretty sad I know more about your own vehicle than you do.
The comment about Rusty says Hi!, are you trying to pull a Grady move and play 2 companies against eachother? because that isn't gonna work this time, I will just say this, maybe you will understand, maybe you won't, but your playing yourself and you don't even realize it.
You stated in your last comment that our subs didn't do well for you in numbers, hmmm, well thats funny, because I believe you posted this did you not?
subs and amps are in and out at times but highest i got so far was 156.0@ 57 htz with 2 crossfire xs v1s on 4 crossfire xp 1400s at .35 each amp. subs foward port up in 8 cube burp box tuned to 38 with 18 inches of port per cube. Again, just pointing out the facts, and this was in your own words, but today you get on here and say how our subs didn't do it for you, so how do you explain this?
I will leave it like this Heath, you ever want to man up and apologize for this, I will be willing to listen, but when I see stuff posted that isn't the facts whether its our products or anybody else's, I am gonna say something and call that person out. You know the real reason why you got on here and tried to trash our subs and me, its because I cut you off from buying product, when I stopped responding to your texts and calls wanting to buy more gear when I had warned you that if I saw you trying to sell off your Crossfire products that I sold to you at competitor pricing, that I was gonna cut you off, which I did. So since then, you have tried to trash the line and me, because I decided to cut you off. My advice to you Heath and to anyone else reading this post, when a manufacture goes out of their way to help you, and sells you products at a discounted price so you can go out and represent them, show some loyalty to that brand, whether its DD, DC, SUNDOWN, whoever, just show your appreciation for the help, because none of us manufactures have to help any of you, we do it because we have hope you will go out and represent us in a positive manner and show off our products, but when you go back and forth spreading lies, telling us bs stories about the other brands you now don't like because of this or that, it makes us just want to say forget it and not deal with competitors. I have been fortunate to have some of the best guys in the competition scene running our products, not only guys who do a damn good job showing off our products by winning world championships and setting records, but guys I would call some of my best friends, guys who would do anything for me and for Crossfire at a drop of a dime if I needed them to. This will be my last response to this post, I apologize to Spoiler for jacking his post with all this, but something had to be said.

roger, i know of 2 more ppl alone that had the same issue with spider issues. both with v2 18s. and even though they use differant spider packs or whatever they havnt really been worth much imo. and as far as selling your products, hell yea i did. i got a 400.4.... wanted more power, bought a 600.4 from crossfire. so what am i supposed to do with the 400.4? give it back to you? no sir i think not. also bought a 600.2 to get more ohm load options outta my mids n highs. also bought some 1700s. had some financial issues and had to sell them. yes i did. but i told you i was wanting more when i was financially set again. when i tried to buy more 1700s you said they were 60-90 days out. that was like 8 months ago. are the new ones even out YET? and those amps you had in your garage you sold me i TOLD you that it was temporary and i was gonna sell them later to get more crossfire stuff. i had plenty of business with you for being a small time competitor. i bought some crossfire mids from you also. asked when the supertweets were coming out so i could get more crossfire Dung Pile in my truck. once again it took months and months and months with no word ever so i went another route.

and yes that 156 was the highest i got so far in my explorer BUT its still not as loud as my escort was with 1 18 and 4 1700s. pretty much same power trunk car and half cone area at a lower note. i was just expecting more than a 156 considering most my single sub setups got 154s to 155s.

to the rusty says hi thing is completly a joke and did exactly what i figured it would which is get you butthurt. it was a JOKE dude. i know you and dc got beef sir.

and most of all i told you first hand when i got the team discount that if i buy somthing and it doesnt work i would sell it and try somthing else. guess you didnt hear that or you wouldnt have gave me the discount? or did you just not believe me and then when i actually did it you got all mad.

i guess its just me but if i was running a company and i sold to ppl. if they didnt like the product or they were going a differant route, i dont think i would mind them selling there stuff for whatever prices. Considering i did actually buy the product even though at a discount AND have repeat business with you on several occasions. im not going to apologize for you being a D bag sir. You are like a woman with your pms text messages sometimes being all mad and the next day being really helpful. it was really hard to get a feel for what kind of a person you were.

AND I DIDNT EVEN SAY ANYTHING AT USACI 10 FINALS WHEN YOU BUILT THAT HEATER BOX COMPARTMENT FOR THE CROSSFIRE VAN THAT BEAT FRED/KIMON. EVEN THOUGH FRED/KIMON WERE FRIENDS OF MINE. I JUST SAT BACK AND WATCHED THE FIREWORKS. YOU BEING A OWNER MANAGER OR WHATEVER OF A COMPANY AND YOU PURPOSLY CHEATED AND COMPETED WITH A VEHICLE THAT WAS NOT SUPPOSED TO BE IN THAT VERTAIN CLASS. AND YOUR WORDS AT CROSSFIRE THE MORNING BEFORE EVERYONE LEFT WERE "WEL THERE JUST GONNA HAVE TO COME UP WITH $1000 THEN" TALKING ABOUT IF MAKING THE HEATER BOX COMPARTMENT WAS LEGAL OR NOT.

People like this destroy any hope of manufacture support. So you guys keep up the good work at Killing off manufactures that help competitors out!

I know that Steve Cook from Alabama used to run the Crossfire subs and he told me they where the Best subs he ever used and he is still to this Day the loudest in history with a OEM windshield at 172 DB Sealed on the dash..He was running around 5 to 6 K per sub..The guy was a master though..

AND YOUR WORDS AT CROSSFIRE THE MORNING BEFORE EVERYONE LEFT WERE "WELL THEY ARE JUST GONNA HAVE TO COME UP WITH $1000 THEN" TALKING ABOUT IF MAKING THE HEATER BOX COMPARTMENT WAS LEGAL OR NOT.

Sorry to OP about this; however I must say something about the above post.

Yes the van posted a higher score than Fred's explorer did that year. However the heaterbox thing was not the only illegal thing about the van otherwise Fred would have run it. The completely fiberglassed dash, no air vents, plus the other pics that had been posted while I was doing the build prior to finding out that the dash or other mods would not be legal in SB4, per my conversation with Ralph & Jenissa well before finals even came around so the van was sold to Larry Dean who at the time was working for a car audio distributor (progressive concepts inc.) which every show that Larry competed in was SB5 which was the class he had his finals invite in. He quit working there 3 months before finals that year goes to finals and tells Fred and myself that he is running SB4 because Roger is making him run that class.(Which was a lie), then proceeds to lie to Roger and Crossfire about several conversations that Larry supposedly had with Ralph about getting an exception to the rule about being out of the industry for a year before competing in a consumer class. Anyone that was at finals that year saw and heard the outcome of that whole thing. Larry withdrawing his entry to finals therefore getting dq'ed. Roger and I have talked about this at great length shortly after finals. I have had no hard feelings against Roger or Crossfire. I would just prefer to leave things alone when it comes to this subject.

If someone has spider problems with the V2's, I would like to see what caused this. I run the V2's, and while I may not be the loudest guy out there, I am loud enough to be the Psychlone World Champion, and I have been running mine at 159 db clear down in the 20hz range, and I have never torn a spider. I did however tear a surround cuz one of my subs was out of phase because I was working till 3 in the morning every night to get my system together. I have seen some pretty crazy statements on here lately. I'm not big on posting on forums, but when I see things that hit home I chime in. I run Crossfire products. Subs and amps. Are they the best? I am not claiming that. Did they put me at the top of the World standings leader board, yes they did. The thing about DC's being louder can go either way. I have 3 team mates that did nothing but swap out their DC subs for Crossfire and Ascendant, and they all gained. Does this mean they are better than DC??? Not in my opinion, but the facts don't lie. Now, this could very easily have gone the other way. I am pretty good friends with Rusty, and he has a great product. In fact, I know him well enough to know that he wouldn't think it's cool to post the pic I saw and see someone saying that "Rusty says hi". It's getting very difficult to get the manufacturers to give us a break anymore, and this is one of the reasons why. I don't preach on the forums about the product I run is the best, nor would I ever bad mouth a product, even if I felt it sucked. I am a competitor that feels very fortunate to have the support of the manufacturer, whether it be amps, subs, components or batteries. When they see stuff like this on the public forums , I cringe. I sure hope this kind of thing doesn't end it for us. I for one know that all these companies would do just fine without us begging to give us a discount. There are plenty of people out there willing to pay full tilt for product. I want to take the time to apologize to the manufacturers involved here. They don't need to see this kind of childish crap on the net. Roger, I appreciate your knowledge and help along my trek. Thank you, and I'm very sorry to see someone go to such childish extremes to deface Crossfire. Rusty, I know that you are a quiet man that doesn't lash out, so I apologize for the comments about you saying hi to Roger, I know that would not make you proud.
In closing, before everybody starts hating on me now..... I am a firm believer in the product that I chose to run. I also know that there are many great companies out there that provide a wonderful product. I just hope that they don't all decide to do away with the competitor pricing program, cuz if I owned the company and saw this, I would say that I don't need this kind of drama. And nobody asked me to say a word. I am just saddened by what I am seeing.
For anyone that does not agree with me or is pissed at me, I apologize in advance. This message is not intended to degrade or bad mouth anybody for voicing their opinion, I am just voicing mine.

Lmao wow..... Long drawn out story that said basically, your sorry to dc and crossfire? And both products are good? Cool, I guess you just had a lot of time on your hands. Good job in doing 59s with crossfire equipment though.
