Joint Finals a success. USACI numbers down due to very remote (from USACI) location but better than expected. Results posted on web site.

PostSubject: What's better?   Fri Jul 06, 2012 5:37 pm

I and in need of some wire and I wanna make the right choice the first time. The kicker has 47xx something strand count and the Knu has over 5100 strands. The rating on the Knu is 375amps and I had to call kicker to see what they said theirs was and they said 300amps. By specs the Knu seems to be the wire to go with and its 20 bucks cheaper a roll. I just wanted to see what others thought first before buying anything.

Brand doesn't matter. What it is made of makes a difference. Some of the cheaper stuff is copper clad aluminum. It is way lighter. Strand count makes a difference. More surface area. Size makes the biggest difference! There is cheaper brands that are only 4 awg wire and 1/0 shielding. Claiming to be 1/0 wire

Tough to beat HyperFlex, but that Knu is awesome. Can't go wrong either way.

knu has a team and they drop the price pretty well if you are buying bulk.

yeah, they told me the same thing. He said the price of copper keeps going up so it makes it more difficult to cut deals on. You can save a lot on shipping if you buy in bulk though. I did not know that about the kicker wire either. I'm still undecided because i have never used the kicker and always wanted to. I have tried the knu wire and it's some impressive stuff too.

Shok wire and XS Power has more strand if that's what you are looking for.

I have Kicker Hyperflex and really like it.

With buss bars on the batteries and dual inputs on the amps any full size wire is more than enough.
