| I am about to upgrade subs from 6 level 3 15s to something bigger. What is the difference between a atomic apx and the apxx. What is the difference between the rd heavy weight and the super heavy weight. What is the ones that compare to the each other brand. (Atomic VS RD...) | |

| Hw and apx are the same. SHW and apxx 4" coil are the same. Apxx uses I believe an 11" motor diameter. The apx and hw are 9" I believe ..220mm | |

| Correct me if I'm wrong( and I probably am), but I think I was told that 4" will hold up longer in SB due to better cooling, but 3" will tend to be louder. | |

| 3" should be louder upto a certain amount of power because of lighter coil which takes less force to move,. if you reach that point and still have power to spare try the 4". the 4" does have more surface are to dissipate the heat in street beat type applications but really arent necessary unless you have rediculous amounts of power and they may actually hurt you because of the weight of the moving mass. ryan has 2 of our 3" coil 12s for his SB runs and uses an M1 amp per 12, thats a retarded amount of power. | |

| I wonder how many people have actually weighed a 4" coil vs a 3" who say that. Most 4" motors are a good bit bigger and stronger. If the end BL is the same or more i don't see why the 4" will hurt spl.

| A 3" coil isn't necessarily louder than a 4" coil even at low power. I don't know why people keep saying that. | |

| There's just so much more to consider than just the coil being bigger. | |

you could have a 8 inch coil as long as a few other things were up to spec. | |
