There is a small difference, not sure how significant it is though.

I'm gonna have to go with no on that, unless there were different versions of the D9 that I'm not aware of.

Did you open them up and look at the boards? They're different, huh? Weren't you having problems with them going into protect at .5Ω?

The 2 I had were strapped at 1/2ohm. Never had problems except for subs holding up.

D9's......if your having doubt the the atomic 5k and d9 are the same just Google it under pics. There built by the same people and different logos added nothing more from my understanding coming from the manufacture.

I don't have doubts. I've just seen a D9 & a 5k side by side and unless the D9s were changed at some point they are indeed slightly different on the inside. I know D9s can do .5 strapped and so can 5Ks which is why I was asking if he was the guy that was having problems with a D9 strapped with a 5K. Maybe the slight difference I saw on the inside is what's causing his amps to have issues at .5 is all I'm saying.

the amps are fine now strapped at 0.5 ohms my sub output on my head unit was sending bad signal .all is good now and that was at 14.2 volts dropping to 11.7. 17.5 volts and the amps have come alive 160's plus 17.5 dropping to 16.8 all day.
