| Been away from competition in all organizations for a couple years now and finally ready to get back at it! I'm sure not many people know me on here as I never posted much back when I used to compete but a few on here do.. Anyway excited about starting another build and may have a build thread soon to go with it...
Little background on me, My senior year of High School (2007) I competed mainly with USACI and was the 2007 Region Points Champion. In 2008 I did alot of competing in IASCA as well as USACI. 2009 I became a Certified judge with IASCA and spent more of my time judging then I did competing. 2010 I didnt compete or judge which leads me to now where in 2011 I have been to a good bit of car shows with my car and truck but the itch to compete again is more than I can take so Im gonna build another.. Im not crazy loud like alot of you guys are but IASCA Legal position was always 144-146. Outlaw in the 147-151 range between setups. Hoping the new build will push me over the 150 legal position hump.
Build is going into a 1998 Ford Ranger Extended Cab... 3 T3 12"s.. 3 Kicker kx1200.1 Amps.. Not sure if it will be Full walled or Half walled at the window line but build should be getting started in the next couple week.s

| I will be competing this year with Burping, mostly did burping back when I competed before but did a little street beat before too when I was just getting into it. I enjoy both and will probably end up making my other car (93 eclipse) a street beat competition car. | |

| Update on the build.. Still haven't gotten started on it but I have the Subs, Amps, Batts all bought
3 12" T3 T1000's (probably upgrading to T2000's later on) 3 Kicker KX1200.1's not my first choice on amps but Ive used them before and did ok, I know alot of people bash on kicker though. 3 Kinetik 2400's
Bought the amps off a good friend and fellow competitor to help him out, which is why Im using them.. Wont be the ideal situation as 1 amp per sub, dual 4 ohms, will be wired 2 ohm, whereas the amp is 1ohm stable. It will get me going back in competition until I can rebuild.
Ordering the RCA's, Power wire, Speaker wire, Carpet, Wood, deadener, etc this week so should be able to get rolling and get a build thread going soon, wont be nothing crazy or spectacular like alot on here but hopefully it wont be too dull and boring

| Man those 1200s are no joke for the money in them.. I know we got 3800 out of a pair a few times.. If I had to run Kicker again this would be my choice of amp... And since your burping have you thought of maybe just strapping 2 and having 1 back up? Will your sub configuration I dunno how it won't be equally as loud.. if not louder.. These amps are strong man I've personally had them strapped at .6 and I've heard ppl strapping at .5.. Good luck with whatever you do.. Just my .02 | |

| Finally got it together and tested. mind you this is sealed and legal position, with a box that has no bracing yet, subs not firmly mounted, missing carpet, door panels and passenger seat, off one battery and small speaker wire just for testing purposes.. Hopefully after all that is finished up it will be putting down some respectable numbers... Plus we think the box is a bit big for 3 12"s heres the meter: | |

| Not a bad start! It will get louder if you cut off that end next to that last sub ..it will rais tuning a bit. | |

| Im planning on shortening the height a little so I can get a false floor under it and it still be below the window line, and then shorten the length a little as well. | |

| subs forward ports up man individual chambers with its own port you can use aero's if need be 6" per chamber would be best
or you can run the common 164-165db range 3 15 setup
with good subs on your setup at 8k watts you should be over 160db man

| ok what im doing is explaining to you what works right now man
i would also sell them amps, and get a rd d5/db drive 3500/ddm3 these amps on 12v will make more than your 3 amplifiers togather will thats right just 1 of d5 will probly double the power.
i am the verification judge at finals, and have seen many exctended cabs, and well i also had an s10 that was over 164db lol
just saying | |

| So after 3 boxes later and never getting any better scores and only going down in numbers I have stepped back to re-think the setup I have.
Currently running the 3 T3 T1000 12"son 2 Kicker KX1200's Strapped at 2.6 ohm... 3 Kinetik 2400's with a 200amp alternator on the electrical side of things. I have tried 2 Different box configurations with the 3 sub setup and 1 setup with a 2 sub configuration and all the boxes have yielded the same numbers.
I also recently got a 15" T2000 that I have been debating on building a box to put in the ranger with. I have also been looking into other amps (yes I know you guys tried to tell me months ago but I had already bought the kickers)... So any good recommendations on setup or amp config? The sub for those that dont know is 2000w rms 4000w peak, Dual 2 ohm VC... I can probably get more of these subs if I needed to to do like the 3 15:" setup sanman was speaking of but already getting shows in the area makes it hard to save up and do a rebuild mid season. Also Johnathon has said he could make the 15" into a 18" if I wanted to so that's an option as well.

| Got the 15" in on a Rockford T40001BD Metered it some yesterday and got some numbers up. Not a burp box as I like to listen to my music and demo some but heres what it did. Sealed Legal Position: And Outlaw Spl: To me thats a big jump between sealed legal and outlaw so im sure theres some more to do but its a better start than I had.. Still may add another 15 later but for now its getting better. | |
