| I don't even know what this is about. I kept to myself and tried to be courteous and friendly to everyone I chatted with. I rooted my team and helped where I could. If someone has a problem with me it is easier to say it to my face then behind my back.
No need to cry. It is better to bring it out in the open. Some people make it sound like beating someone in a competition is like your holding a gun to the loser's head or something. If someone beats me I could care of less. I will still shake their hand and have a good time .

| Okay....so BACK to the Drag at finals part..... Wayne made this comment at Termpro "We probably won't have a 3X at the USACi venue unless the rules for 2008 are approved prior to that date." It's the last post of this "out of hand" thread, which he locked. http://audioforum.termpro.com/topic/4/18322/2.html | |

| When I talked to Celise the day before their finals I was told it was no problem but we need to have a better representation for DBDRA..... We addded DBDRA and began promotion at that time.
We are planning a 3x, have been told it was ok, and will be taking registration until someone from DBDRA contacts us to inform otherwise...

| People just need to follow the rules no matter what they are. I do why cant every one else.
It's not just the sticker, Some people actually saw him remove a speaker panel after the mic was placed and the judge exited the vehicle. When brought to a certain judges attn he pretty much told them to F off, that judge just happens to be friends with Geoff. coincidence? maybe so. Not trying to attack you personally Geoff as I dont know you and I dont know if any of this was intentional on your part but rules are rules and you didnt follow them. Congrats on your win though, you were definately the loudest there.
Now back on topic, I just spoke with Wayne and he said that if the new rules were in place by USAC finals then it would be a 3x, if not then it wouldn't be. May only be a 1x or 2x. He said he was going to call ralph in the next few days and work it out. From what I was told there are going to be some major changes over there so IMO its prolly going to take more than a couple of weeks to get the new rules finalized.

| It always takes more than a couple of weeks to get the rules finalized. This has been the case in the past and the 3x was still allowed. The scores just didn't count as certified scored in their class. Making it a 1x or 2x seems meaningless, especially at the price of entry. I am not knocking the entry fee, but it would be overly excessive for anything less than a 3x. | |

Actually, it was allowed the last couple of years, and the certifieds carried, because there where no changes to the rules. This year apparantly there will be changes to the rules....which is good, but I think they need to work on enforcement of what they have in place before trying to add new things.

| I'd think due to the format change this year, there would be a lot of changes.
Thanks for callin him Toby... I'm SURE Wayne's had a lot of poop to deal with since coming back from finals. Hopefully he CAN get the rules ironed out, there's quite a few people that would like to see the 3x happen. Van Riper is even thinkin about coming out.

| I look at it like this, obviously theres a reason for it being in the rule book, does a sticker itself make someone louder? Hell no, is it possible for a sticker to cover up something else going on that could? Yes. Do I think that was geoff intentions? I would hope not but I dont know why he would be one of the few who would not know of this rule.
The vent, yes it does make a difference ESPECIALLY if you pull the factory speaker, even more if you take it a few extra steps beyond that, just ask Team Excursion.
I look at it two ways neither of the rules mentioned would of effected a change in placement, but that doesnt mean they shouldnt of been addressed or overlooked. The comment I liked was from a finals judge saying he was the "MC" of the event and not their to enforce rules, well then why are you even considered a judge?
all in all Geoff put in alot of money, time, & work, put up one helluva number and should be proud, but maybe focus on keeping the issue from happening again.

From what I was told there are going to be some major changes over there so IMO its prolly going to take more than a couple of weeks to get the new rules finalized. ummmmmm yea I removed the speaker panel after he placed the mic. Why you ask? Because the JUDGE told me to. There was one tab that happened to not be in its place nearest the windshield which I must have overlooked when putting it back in place after testing and it coming off. I put it back in place where it was originally I actually beat on it showing it doesnt go on any further. It still popped off???? The sticker was there for cosmetic reasons only. I even TOLD the judge if anyone has a problem with it there to let me know and I will remove it. I was told by a few judges NOT to worry about it. I even called a judge before Finals to ask him if it was ok to put a sticker there. The reason why I asked was because I thought the sticker looked stupid on the back door and on the sides and most people look at the front of the van anyways. I already had my project db stickers on the other side so I asked the judge. No harm no foul. He didn't see a problem with it. i see people with tape over there windows and vinyls across the top and bottom of their front windows so honestly I never thought it would cause such a controversy. So there you have it. My side of the story.
