I know it's a bit too close to finals to be playing around yet, but I can't help it, it's what we do.
Anyway, what would be the thoughts on port length, does more port equal louder?
Right now, I have a slot port, 3X15 per speaker, 11" long, but it is not straight, it's length is 4" outside the box, then it does a 90 degree turn inside the box and runs for 8" down the back of the box. The port length inside the box helps load the subs as the port faces back and the subs face forward in the box.
If I move my speaker to face up off the hatch, instead of facing forward, I can run another board to extend the port another 8" and have it run under 1/2 of the speaker. Only problem is this adds another 90 degree angle to the entire port.
I know this is probably clear as mud w/o a drawing, but I'm just wondering if this would help the sub load better for more pressure or if all the angles will kill the air flow. Also, was think that subs off the hatch glass would be better than forward.
Thoughts??
