I think Sanman's main point on the PVC is the flares. They're very difficult to do properly so using pre-fab flares is the way to go. Also, I got some pvc from a job site once and used it. It was just for testing and it was filthy. Believe it or not, just cleaning it with soap and water was worth .4. Brand spanking new pvc is fine, but used stuff usually has a ton of nicks, and swirls and holes and imperfections that cause turbulence. I can't tell you the best way to smooth it out, but you definitely need to. BTW- SonoTube is cheap as dirt. Lol.

| I hand sanded with 60 grit paper than resined it with 3 thin coats. Mixed a little hot. Than sanded with 220 grit. The hot oil in a turkey fryer is the way to go on the flairs | |

| well i tried flaring them today with a heat gun and it would flare over the bowl but when i tried to put the flange on it flat on the ground it kept splitting the pipe and i got mad and said screw it and put it up for the day. so you boil hot cooking oil then put the pvc pipe in there for how long? then how do you go about flaring it?
BTW thanks for the help guys.

| I was able to do it with the heat gun but it sucked! The oil needs to be near boiling put the pipe in untill it starts to get floppy. Than push it on the jig. Make sure you are holding the pipe plumb. You should make a wood jig for the flair. But if a bowl is the shape you want I guess use it. But I can't imagine it is all that bell shaped .lol | |

| dude find the point on the bowl where it needs to start flanging it and take and cut some mdf rings to mount on the bowl at that point then when u shove it down on it it will flange it too | |

| Right. Tearing is not good . But if it isn't perfect. You can use bonding to make it so. | |
