| I've had lots of differant setups that were loud in explorers/mountaineers. That particular setup was 6-12s, 4-5kw's, 5 nsb90's and 12 runs of 1/0 with a upgraded alt. The same setup with 4-12s was only a couple tenths down. | |

| ok well i need to sell my 18s in the near future and do 4 12s i guess. in this case less cone area is better for explorers i see. thanks for all the info guys. i did 2 layers of deadner on the cargo floor and sides. then i spray foamed the driver side, waiting for it to dry now. then ill shave it and put deadner over it and repeat on the passenger side. | |

| how much will i gain from running 3 runs from the alt to battery and 3 runs from front batt to back bank? reason i ask is because i just put a nice big battery up front and its super tight. dont know if i have enough room to add 4-6 more connectors, wire and all that up there. | |

| You gain on power wire by doubling it. The more the better. Not to say that cone are isn't a good thing but you get to a point where it just gain alot, plus 18s take up to much width in there.

| dang. well the batt up front is on its side so i may get toolmaker or someone to make one of those L bracket buss bars so i can put all the connectors and wire on the top aka side of the battery if that makes sense. anyone have any for sale? | |

| I didn't mean the box was too big for the 18s, just too big in general for an explorer. Try too stay at stock height, which I think is 14.5 height. | |

| i dont even have that much room. i would have to bend it and put the connectors on the top of the battery. i thought of what u did but realized i dont have extra space as you do. | |

| another show is today for me, lets hope for the 155 this time,
these are some things ive changed....
took the small c and d out up front and put a big sprinter 370 in there (less voltage drop) deadened the hatch area and foam 2 panels did 2 runs of 1/0 instead of 1 for all my grounds and jumper wires. moved batts longways so i can slide box back about another 8 inches(better loading hopefully) took floor mats out completly (heard it was good for .2) and i have some more interior tricks that are all good for small .1-.4 gains)
i will update this thread tonight. thanks to skip01, solo1 and fecupe2001 on termpro as well. | |
