| Nope that was Marcs regular can.....The sub is one of my old ones. Seems like everything he gets of mine he dismembers is sets on fire. Got a nightshade cone that he set the tinsel leads on fire. 4 cubic foot box with maybe 20 square inches of port area might have ben the problem. But damn it was loud. lol | |

| just looks like rubbin to me
i thought it might have bottomed out at first but looking at the bottom lip of the coil it isnt crinkled anywhere at all
the copper doesnt seem to be discolored either so heat from distortion dont look like a factor either
who cones these subs or was these from the factory and were they scratching from the get go

| Factory cones. They were in my truck for a few months and I never had a issue at all. But ha said the cone itself was so hot you couldn't touch it. unsure of what caused it but oh well on to better things now. | |

| rubbing like that is usually a result from improper gap clearance when things heat up they also swell so id the gap was super tight to begin with then after they heated up the gap wasnt a gap anymore lol
also beating on a set of subs for an extended period of time will cause this as well this is why alot of street beaters go through so many subs or cones

| It didn't take an extended amount of time, not even 5 minutes, and was playing tones. 45-47hz if I remember right... It was in a new box and didn't even have the seats back in the truck yet. Heat is what got it and a little over excursion. They stuck out, I let it cool for a little while wiggled it around until it went back in and then done it again. Now, I'm not real sure why it heat up so quick. I've had em for a minute, and this is after HUFF had beat the crap out of them too.
I've tore a lot of crap up. From my experiences, I see more heat in a bigger box And you can use more power in a smaller box... I went from a 3.4cube box to a 2.7cube and added a big 6sq inches to the port at around 30hz... But, it happens...
