Bought a used Cactus CS9000 back in February, but shortly thereafter noticed the voltage was sitting pretty low (about 12.2 volts and dropping over several hours), hadn't been in a vehicle in a while so I just figured it had discharged on it's own from sitting for awhile.
At this point, hasn't been in my vehicle as I'm afraid it's just gonna drain my starting battery as well.
Threw a PowerMaster charger on it over nite, and it charges up to around 13 volts before going into 'Maintenance' mode. Pulling it off the charger, and it will discharge over the next 12 hours. I began to suspect maybe it was a bad core, pulled the buss bar off and tested the terminal pairs individually, and appears it has 2 bad cores, sitting at around 9.5 volts, and the other 3 appearing to be okay sitting around 12.5 volts.
So, question is, anyone here replaced bad cores before?
Anyone here know someone that can/has done it?
Where do the dead CS9000's go?
