| Sorry I always give them out if I am informed of them, which I do ask the promoter before I list the event. I also adjust my prices accordingly to help with gate fees |

| yes, you were my favorite event host last year. I like how you are willing to help the competitors. I would attend if I was back in Texas but I'm still stuck in Iraq for a while longer. I might just have to make a 2012 comeback. | |

| I've drawn out the cuts for my new $150 Challenge box. Looking forward to testing it out at this show.
I promise it won't peak at 81 Hz (again) ... LOL. 3cf --> ~6 cf 40 sq in --> 120 sq in of port area
Much more suitable for 4 12's.

| Hey ShowB,
What time does the show start and end?
Heard that Lil Keke and Big Pokey will be performing. Should be lots of scary dogs and candy slabs. Gate fee shouldn't be a big deal, if the show turns out as good as the hype.

Much more suitable for 4 12's. that port seems real big for such low power. what are you tuning to? i would use half that much port for that much box.

| You're probably right. Hifonics suggests big boxes (1.75-2.5 cf per woofer) and 3" round port per woofer. Extrapolate for 4 woofers, that's 7-10 cf NET volume.
Hifonics recommends ~30 sq in Rule of Thumb (V*16) says 112-160 sq in Car Stereo dot com's calculator says 80-120 (at 35 and 50 Hz respectively)
The right answer is somewhere in there. My experience with manufacturers is they undersize the port just enough to prevent heavy whistling. With an underpowered setup, big box and big port usually are a good thing... but not too extreme.
I could just test. My 3 4" aeros versus a monster slot. Swap em out and see what works.

| i dont know where exactly people got 16 in^2 per ft^3, i think DD had that on their website. in my opinion, that 16 is for big powered woofers with alot of suspension. not the average setup. my rule of thumb is the weaker the woofer, the smaller the port. the box i do 160 with is 13 inches per foot. i call that big. i used 8 per foot on my kickers and got to 159
but ot the flipside, ive only been porting stuff since the end of 09, so i do lack experience. as a matter of fact, i built a box last week that didnt even bang. so ive still got some things to learn.
