LINE DRIVERS

i know ive had a bulletin already about them...

but i'd just like to hear what yall think is the best line driver...and i only have one amp...

I know someone that did a test with and without a line driver in there specific set up and gained 2 db with the line driver.

It all depends on the amp. Some amp don't like much input.

If I have to choose, I will say Memphis

I VOTE MAX LINK>>.one of the good things about the max link ya can adjust it to what your amp likes . also can tune it to what ya burp at. .

Which amps would you say do like them?

I know someone that used the Autotek line drive and he used it on a low line amp like power acoustik to what he has now memphis 4000s.

Did he get gains from the Memphis with it?

I think i would have to ask him if he test with and without. Paul Romano. He was at Scrapin the Coast this year had the Mazda Truck with the SHOCKER on it might have seen it?

i have a kicker zx1500.1 right now.

The 1500 will accept a 5v input,maybe a little more,Bruce would probably know for sure,he's really good with kicker,and i did find out the memphis will accept a 9v input,that's great because i have a 5v now and the line driver will definitely pick it up.

I finally got my memphis line driver in with the 4-memphis 2500's and it does great,but haven't metered it yet.

i always heard memphis or like kicker they like low input voltage....but thats just me

hay if any one is still looking at this.does the AMERICANBASS VFL400.1s like hi voltage and would u say the the mephis line driver would work good or some other.I am running 4 AB 400.1s

Looking at this, I would say 6volts input would be good. Not sure if I would go over that. May end up frying the inputs. I may be wrong on this tho, so someone with experience could really tell ya.
They will also take 18volts out of the box. But will do there rated power at 14.4, but a little more with 16 to 18 volts. Say 1200 to 1800 more.

Here is a what Phoenix gold says of a frequently asked line driver question , dont know if this will help but its worth a thought

A:Since music is dynamic with peaks and valleys that allows a lot more leeway with input signal voltage. Music is not like a test tone (which is normally used to test equipment), so in reality any Phoenix Gold equipment will accept 8 volts of signal. So if it says Phoenix Gold it will handle 8 volts of signal, no problem.
