| It all depends on the amp. Some amp don't like much input. | |

| The 1500 will accept a 5v input, maybe a little more,Bruce would probably know for sure,he's really good with kicker, and i did find out the memphis will accept a 9v input, that's great because i have a 5v now and the line driver will definitely pick it up. | |

| Looking at this, I would say 6volts input would be good. Not sure if I would go over that. May end up frying the inputs. I may be wrong on this tho, so someone with experience could really tell ya. They will also take 18volts out of the box. But will do there rated power at 14.4, but a little more with 16 to 18 volts. Say 1200 to 1800 more. http://www.12volt.com/archives/2005/101405.htmlPower at 1 ohm ; 4000W x 1 Two amps linked power at 4 ohm : 5200W x 1 Two Amps Linked Power at 2 ohm ; 8000W x 1 Input Sensitivity : 0.2V ~ 6V Subsonic Filter ; 10Hz ~ 50Hz Variable Bass Boost ; 0 ~ 9dB Variable Low Pass Filter : 35Hz ~ 250Hz Variable Phase Shift ; 0 ~ 180 Degree Two Amp Linkable function : Output Master/Input Slave 2 x 2 Gauge Power Supply connectors Signal to Noise : 85dB Damping Factor : 200 < Tested Voltage & THD : 14.4V & 1% THD Dimension ; 650 L x 258 W x 66 H mm 25.59 x 10.16 x 2.60 inch | |

| Here is a what Phoenix gold says of a frequently asked line driver question , dont know if this will help but its worth a thought
Q:I noticed that my Phoenix Gold equipment is listed that it can only handle 2 volts of input signal, so will it be okay to use my PLD1 to drive 8 volts of signal to my amp or processor?
A:Since music is dynamic with peaks and valleys that allows a lot more leeway with input signal voltage. Music is not like a test tone (which is normally used to test equipment), so in reality any Phoenix Gold equipment will accept 8 volts of signal. So if it says Phoenix Gold it will handle 8 volts of signal, no problem. | |
