PostSubject: SB4 modification question   Thu May 08, 2008 7:27 am

I'm about to start a modest SB4 build (4 18s and roughly 5kw rms) for my truck. I'm going to do a wall in the 04 Silverado Ext Cab.

Now here is the question. I want to do an amp setup similar to this:

with my 2 zx2500.1s and zx8504. Basically remove that front middle bench seat and build a custom rack. Since some of those 03-06 model silverados come with a stationary center console and no middle seat would that allow me to still be in SB4 if I did the amp rack like I want? or would that put me in SB5?

If not could I move them to the bed of the truck and still be in SB4 or do they have to be in the cab?

Kenny brought that up to me also. I will be running 2 300 amp irragis daily driving but I'll keep a tool set and smaller belt for when I go to events so I can drop down to 1. It doesn't take that long do disassemble and reassemble alts in a chevy

Btw, I may need your welding services sometime in the near future Smile

There is nothing in the rules about amps being forward of the bpillar in sb, just in outlaw classes.

it does say something about factory seats, i was saying since the silverado come with buckets and that middle seat (some don't some just have a center console) is that considered not having factory if i were to remove that middle?

Im SB1 and I was forced into sb5 because my amps were behind the front seat, on the floor. I was told I had to move them behind the A pillor. I didnt have any extra ground wire, so I had to go into a super mod class. It was a guy from here that threw a fit, and went to the judge about it. Kinda crazy. Oh well.

I was trying to avoid the bed of the truck but it looks like i'll have to move to it. 4-8 zx2500.1s won't fit well in the cab

i thought it said enclosure behind. not all equipment?

The amps would be allowed in the center where you are proposing they be mounted. This would make your car fit into Street beat, port wars, or super port only though. You would not be allowed to run in modified or super modified.
