| | [/b] I am getting ready to have a high end stereo system installed in my Ford F-250 4x4 and will be buying the Zapco line of amps to power everything but am at a loss as to what speaker system to go with that will handle my level of continuos volume. Are there any suggestions out there to help guide me. Money is no problem. Also if you feel that there is a better line of amps please advise me on this also. |

| Not heard the Zapco and started to get myself. Brax, Helix, Audison, Genesis,Tru Amps, Butler Tube Amps are all good amps. I have heard good thing about the hybrid audio speakers. Berrilliyum( spelling)? I am sleepy. Focal, Dynaudio. I haven't listen to the following but /////Alpine F1 Status, Rainbow, Morel. Maybe some guys a little better in the know about some of these lines can help. I hope this helps a little _________________ TEAM S.P.E.A.D. 1999 GMC YUKON /////Alpine Focal Audison JL 220 amp Stinger Alternator and wiring 2 Stinger 1500 batteries

| | thank you for the feedback on the amps and the speakers. i will be looking into these. by the way the Zapco amps are from my experience the truest amps that you can buy for performance and reliability. Alot of people have never heard of them because they are an amp that are normally only seen in an extremely high end system due to their cost and it is very hard to outperform them in their performance and agility and power output. |

| I like the Focal speakers. I like the K2p series speakers. I've done a few installs with the Be speakers and I'm not that impressed over the K2p, but I'm not an sq guy so I don't have the ear for it. The hertz speakers are supposed to be nice on the high end stuff. Do lots and lots of listening before you buy. I don't know about the Alpine F#1 speakers, but the Type x speakers are really bright and a little on the harsh side to me. _________________ Mike Schwitz Stay Tuned Audio 262-542-8863 Team MMATS Team Ultra Subs Team SRS Also an "Insider" myspace.com/schwitzsplfamily Upper Midwest Comitee Rep (WI, MI, MN) 262-707-7570 (cell) |

| Unfortunately, I have not had a chance to really listen to the Hybrid Audio stuff. I'm sure it's great stuff though, no doubt about that.
I will suggest that rather than going off of what others tell you to get, that you should go and try and listen to the different options out there on your own.
I know this can be difficult as it's hard to find shops that carry all these brands. They are out there, whether it's in a shop or in someones car at a show.
Personally, I think the STEG K series amps are the truest and most reliable amps out there...see, it's all about personal preference....
Take advice from people, but don't make your decision based off of it. Go listen to what you can and let your ears decide. _________________ Jan Bennett

Could not agree more and when listening remember on some highe end you have the sound board so ask whats powering them. Speaker placement is so important, cannot be stressed enough _________________ TEAM S.P.E.A.D. 1999 GMC YUKON /////Alpine Focal Audison JL 220 amp Stinger Alternator and wiring 2 Stinger 1500 batteries

| I've heard lots of speakers. The Hybrid speakers I heard in Rick and Dave's trucks were nice. When I do my vehicle I'm most likely going to use the Focal K2P line or the Focal Utopia Be's if I decide to let go of the cash. The Zapco amps aren't bad but there are better things out there as some others have mentioned. _________________ Matt Sibley, BSEE, EIT Team S.P.E.A.D. | | Thank you for all of the different advises and i will agree with all of you that it is a matter of personnal preferance and i will listen to the various speaker systems. I am fairly sure that i will end up with the Macintosh series amps and Either the Boston acoustic pro series or the zapco comp., pro series or the Alpine pro series speaker systems. |

| for my personal preference, I'd throw the Hybrid Audio stuff in hand over fist above the Focal K2P product. The Focal Be set does some really nice stuff...it's at a high pricemark though...it'd be a hard decision between those Scan/Alpine F1 though IMO.
Freaking Zapco amps rock...period. You can't go wrong with good clean power...don't get sold on amp brand hype. The Zapco DC's are awesome because of the good clean power and the added tuning features. |

| Well I have to be honest the Audison lrx are very clean and loads of power. The k2p's are hard to beat as well in that price range. I did not get a chance to listen to the hybrids. _________________ TEAM S.P.E.A.D. 1999 GMC YUKON /////Alpine Focal Audison JL 220 amp Stinger Alternator and wiring 2 Stinger 1500 batteries

| I cannot speak for the newer model LRX, but my experience with the older LRX series is that the STEG K series walks all over them.
We were running the LRX from 2 years ago (our first year out to compete seriously in SQ). They were good amps, don't get me wrong - hell, we did win...
but after switching to the STEGs...I was kicking myself for waiting...
These STEGs walk all over the older LRX. MUCH more dynamic, MUCH more power, MUCH more linear. _________________ Jan Bennett

| I think the new Lrx are much better amps than the older ones with more power, I have heard of steg but not heard them. What is your opinion of Butler Tube Amps. I have really wanted to listen to one on a nice set of components. I dont think I will ever be satisfied until I listen to and or purchase one. _________________ TEAM S.P.E.A.D. 1999 GMC YUKON /////Alpine Focal Audison JL 220 amp Stinger Alternator and wiring 2 Stinger 1500 batteries
