We NEED an SQ members meeting!

We need a members meeting this year!!!

The last one was in February 2005 and that was the last major change in class formats.

We need to change some things and make classes that make since to shops that are trying to get new customers to compete.

Thoughts?

This needs to happen after the first of the year in a central location... Memphis might be a good spot. (btw that is a 12 hour drive for me)

please voice opionions.

Why don't you have it at the Deep South Nationals show? Isn't that a big SQ show as well?

^that show is in June--the end of June. WAY to late to be having a members' meeting for 2010 competition year.

No argument from me. The problem is usually timing and money for the formentioned. I agree, its been long overdue for some type of meeting, preferably in person at some south-central location agreeable by everyone. Another thought would be some kind of online discussion and vote. Proposed rule changes could be submitted by all including Ralph, reviewed, and voted on by all members. I realize this would not be as effective as an "in person" rules meeting and I personally would prefer a "real" meeting, but
anything would be an improvement over the past few years. I mean who wants a major change in the middle of the season after your competitors are used to current rules and then get a change thrown on them later on in the year with no warning whatsoever.

Bottom line is that some sort of meeting needs to go down preferably asap or during first qtr. of 2010 so everyone knows what
the changes will be, if any. I will help anyway that I can.

I am a newb in USAC, but not to audio. I agree that if you are going to run an organization with members, you have to involve the members. You also have to make it somewhat easy for those members to be a part of the organization. I am game to give my newb input in any form.
