USACI announced today that the 2008 USACI World Finals and Tuner Jam will be re-locating to the Dallas-Fort Worth area in Texas. Every effort is being made to keep the current dates. Event specifics including hotels will be updated frequently over the next week. Despite incredible efforts and input on behalf of the Omaha retailers and USACI, there were obstacles to the event in the Omaha market that could not be overcome.

USACI would like to thank Stereo West, Inphase Audio, Nebraska Furniture Mart, and Metro Audio for all their efforts. "While we at USACI are disappointed to be making a change so late in the season we welcome the opportunity to take USACI Finals back to Texas and develop a new venue" stated Ralph Randall, USACI's president. "We also have several forthcoming announcements coming about our new finals sponsors and the plans for our new venue!" he continued. These announcements can be expected over the next 5-7 days.

USACI has a very strong support base in the mid-south region that includes Texas and the move will undoubtedly increase not only competitor attendance but spectator turnout as well. Several manufacturers have already committed to support the event and we expect several more in the next two weeks. www.usaciworldfinals.com will be updated as contracts are secured. In KC you had many very nice hotels within a block from Bartle Hall. Marriott, Radison, Doubletree, etc. Here you look like you better be ready to jog .5 - 2 miles minimum each way in questionable surroundings. Your car won't be an option if its like most finals. It will be locked away til late Sunday afternoon. If your coming down alone, a rental car isn't an option. You can't drive two at once. As far as taxi's go I don't think there will be any just waiting for you like in KC and Omaha. Look at the area, if you were taxi driver would you park there waiting for a fare.

i wouldnt sweat it to much guys, im sure usaci will be considerate enough to work out some type of bus or something between the host hotel and the event location, or at least if i were in charge thats what i would do

i'm going to make sure there are cabs around i'll call the guy that ownes yellow cab company. he is a friend of mine so i know we will have enough cabs.

1. We will have blocks at hotels within 3 miles of the event. These are NICE hotels and have security. Some in the West End and Downtown area JUST LIKE K.C. Will have a shuttle set up for OUR block hotels. Radisson and others are working on contracts.

2. Everyone will be inside and we will have electric. Cost to follow.

3. Security Friday and Saturday night at the show site. Working on allowing cards to stay inside until Monday AM. Will let everyone know.

4. We are using the Auto Building and the Centennial Halls. Total about 180,000 SF. SQ and SPL will be in separate halls as the current plan is.

I will be on the road for a large event in Portland, Or this weekend and Darville is out to Arizona and Vegas so we will do as much as we can from the road but please be patient.
