Absolutely,

Cris, how many subs and amplifiers do you think DD sells because they've won in the lanes.....

To think that a company is unaware of the benefits that come with world titles being won with their equipment is just naive.

Zac you of all people have talked to DD and know there ambitions are not to dominate spl...it is to be know for good sounding reliable equipment that puts out what they say it puts out in a real world environment. They are not driven by what we do in the lanes. Period. There ratings are not based on what competitive class they can fit there amps in... we are only a small percetage of sales compared to average consumer sales. I don't know how many more ways I can say it so I give up. Competitors have a distorted view of what these companies set out to do. Competitors think its all about us...it's not, trust me.

I see both sides. We make for the general public. We don't make amps that do .25 ohm, gilla watts, etc,ect...BUT, agree people using our equipment is beneficial, and needed in the lanes. DD can't think other wise.
They built an amp that will do a ton of power and handle low impedence. Why do normal kids, (not SPL'ers) need .50 ohm for?

Now, if you build it, "they will come".

DD makes good solid stuff. It does very well in the lanes.
And agree with Ralph, what is DOES in the lanes does add money in their pockets. Us too. IA as well. Cactus, etc, etc

The last time we made stuff like that, was the late 90's, XS amps.

I was speaking in general terms butthead... of course the z2 was for power only...cmon now. Every company has atleast 1 or 2 geared toward the crazy asses like yourself or myself that have to much maoney to waste on the higher classes. I was not speaking of those amps...but there mainstream everyday kick butt sounding amps.....I'm done going back and forth on this..i've said everything I have to say 10 times over. And now you are taking crap wrong....it ain't worth it.....rerate the darn amp if they want....i don't care...don't run it. I just know it's intentions where not for spl or usaci. It just happened to kick ass in that class...a certain company cried about it and now it could be gone....ah well.

I guess we have to see it as a 2 way street. Competitors will always demand a certain product for this hobby. Companies will certainly listen and build a product that suits a certain demand, and charge a arm and a leg for it since it's not a daily high demand.

It looks like the lower classes;0-600,601-1800 are getting slim on amp power.

Which will make it more challenging don't u think?

Just a quick question...alil off the topic though.

How can I get in contact w/ AudioTruth Labs?
(Or for that matter, any place that can correctly test an amp)
I would like to personally send in an amp or 2.

AudioTruth was not able to sustain 14.4 volts so I wouldn't not consider using them.

Cogent Audio Labs is what I would suggest. They are completely independant and not affiliated with any manufacture, so the results are not bias. I know that for a fact. Not only that they were able to test the Rockford monster affraid and yes there power supply is that big! And yes they CAN sustain the right voltage for testing.

Cogent Audio Labs
(480) 892-1981

I am not sure the exact address as I only know how to drive there, lol.

I think it should be sent back to test at the 30% tolerance as others have been in the past...keep the testing consistent. This would be a much simpler and wiser choice then to try and retest all the other amps at 20%... especially after USACI has already given there seal of approval on the already verified amps and people have bought them trusting that they would have absolutely no future issues with the amp.
Now that being said, if the M3 is sent back it needs to be at 30% tolerance...BUT at 14.4 not 13.8....will it pass at that??? It'll be very close... more tolerance but also more voltage to make more power. Either way, don't care, just make it the correct test.

So I think it should temporarily be able to be used in competition but NOT for world records etc. What ya think? Ralph.....you had a chance to talk to anyone form DD...I know they where waiting for a call from you. Let us know what your thoughts are on the issue please.
