| It's not only in DFW. It was/is in Houston, the Gulf Coast (MS, GA, FL), the midwest, the NE. Hell, MECA was founded by an old USACi director (Steve Stern) that took USACi's rules from the mid to late 90's, changed the format just enough to dodge the legal bullet and ran with it. Steve's org is the only one to my knowledge that has evolved from those beginnings and brought new formats to the table and survived more than a year or two doing shows.
The bottom line is, everyone that's ever done a show thinks that they can make a million dollars promoting soundoff type events and it usually doesn't take them long to figure out that you can't. Mark made VERY little money at the end of the week and he stuck with it like some of us because he loved the sport, the people that he met and the people it produced. I'd bet the org in DFW either won't stray far outside of the boundries of DFW or folds completely in a short period of time.

| i have no idea what you guys are talking about...but as im reading im tryin to figure out how you create a new org. with out sharing rules and simular formats?? no matter what you run into the same issues when making rules and running shows....im guessing you guys are talking about a more specific jack?

| hey alan its not a usaci sanctioned org...but yet they stole marks format that he worked hard for and then they manipulated the classes and class names for example they have a port wars event but yet they dont call it port wars, and before ralph could figure out what they were doing the promoter cupcake himself had it all switched up its kinda gay what they did they had no respect for mark and usaci so i will make sure more people understand what they are trying to do, they wanna be like usaci i really feel sorry for them. i wonder if that dude even has a license to promote that show because if your ttaking money for an event you have to have a dba as well as a texas license that actually might be worth looking into, thank goodness its all public record... am i bitter? lets just say mark was like a dad to me and to alot of other people and i wont rest till people KNOW whats up....

who is ya'll? and what makes you think USACi is the only group that give out rings!!? jeez. Why do you think there is market for them? Oh wait, USACi didn't come up with any award; should they not give out trophies or plaques either. Shut it. It makes you look bad.
No one likes all the negatvity you spew all over the internet.
All the different organizations have slightly different rules and terminology to keep off of everyone's toes, that's how it works.
Nothing was 'stolen' from USACi. There was a lapse in directors when the guy here left USACi. I talked to him a couple of times on the phone but don't remember his name. This particular geographic region was a tough haul for shows and right at the fringe form two regions. Someone saw an opportunity and went for it. It gave me shows locally to attend AND USACi shows near the area.
USACi has a DFW area director now. Let's see what happens. I've spoken with RXZILLA and he seems to be all about fun, not drama. The Dallas | Fort Worth area is I think the fifth largest metropolitan area in the COUNTRY and I think there is plenty of room for everybody. What will you complain about when dbDrag gets here??? or NSPL or ANY other org?!??!? I don't know of many competitors that are exclusive to one org, period.
Mark Barrymore might've been a real good guy, I only went to one show he ran. I hear he was well repsected in the USACi arena. Just remember that respect is earned, not given and right now you have NONE of mine.
I've resevered judgement on why you have such dislike for other sound competitons but am keeping that to myself, for now. Man up and be a positive influence and representative for USACi. I'm sure that's how the home office would like it.

Boy do I ever agree with you. This is a post that is only sturring the pot look Candencechef leave it alone. You are sturring a pot that does not need to be sturred. I have been a LONG time supporter of USAC and I still am. I have been an even longer friend of Mark Barmore. Mark's gone and may he rest in peace. Right now I really don't think he would be proud of you for sturring up this nonsense. LET IT BE MAN !!!! |

I didn't take the job for drama. Chef was really close to Mark so he feels a sense on loyalty. I admire that. I took the job just to have fun. I have recieve and sent pm over to TBP and I have told him ther is enough for everyone. I think we all all in it for the same reasons, to have fun and a place for everyone to play. Chef, you and I have talked and we are cool, thats just how I want everything to be, cool. I am not here to step on anyones toes or punch any guts. Lets just all hate each other in the lanes and at the end of the day, sit back and eat some BBQ and drink a few cokes and or brewskies together. Lets put the FU back in fun in DFW.
